What is an on grid solar rooftop system?
On-grid solar power system is a solar power generation system where electricity generated by the system is used to run your home appliances. These type of systems are connected to the grid so that when the excess power is generated, it diverts the power to grid and you receive money for the power you supply.

A typical Solar Rooftop systems consists of the following:

• Solar Modules
• Inverter Distribution
• Box Solar Meter
• Bidirectional Meter
• However, these kind of systems are connected bi-directionally so that when you need excess power which cannot be supplied by your solar systems, that power will be supplied by the grid for which you pay the money.

What is a solar subsidy for On grid rooftop?
As per the GUVNL scheme, the Gujarat Government is providing subsidy to install Solar Rooftop Systems for the Residential houses. The scheme started in late November when the Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Vijay Rupani Announced it.
According to the scheme you can get upto 40% subsidy for your  solar rooftop systems. Here are the details:

• 40% Subsidy till 3Kw  
• 20% Subsidy Above 3Kw

Is there any time limit for claiming solar subsidy?
Yes there is a time limit. As per the government, you can apply for your solar rooftop subsidy till March 2021. After that the window will be closed to apply for your solar.

What are the documents required to claim solar subsidy?
The documents required for applying to claim your solar subsidy are as follows:

• Your latest electricity bill
• House tax receipt (Vara Bill)
• Aadhar Card
• Two passport size photo

Do solar panel work during power outage??
No, On grid solar systems are designed in such a way that they will not supply power during the power outage. The reason behind this is that, when the power outage is present, the energy will try to go to grid. This is done to protect the engineers working on the grid lines from getting electrocuted. The inverters are the ones that cuts the power supply to grid.

Why inverters are used in solar rooftop systems?
Solar Panels are devices that generates DC current. The appliance in your homes run on AC current. So to use the power supplied from solar rooftop systems, an inverter is used. An inverter is a device that converts DC current into AC current.

Can i Monitor my solar power generation?
Yes you will be able to track your solar plant generation everyday. Modern inverters are equipped with technology for giving you a summary of daily power generation. You just need to connect your inverter to a Wi-Fi or insert a sim card through a stick provided with the inverter itself.

What is the life of solar panels?
Today’s solar panels are also extremely resilient against high winds and heavy rain. Most solar panels are certified to withstand hurricane force winds. In addition, the aluminum and glass casings that hold a solar panel’s solar cells are highly waterproof, even during extreme rain.

Therefore the solar panels can run for maximum of 25 years if taken proper care and maintenance.

Will I get warranty on solar?
Yes solar panels comes with a warranty of 10 years. If there is any irregularities in your solar panel power generation, you can apply for a warranty claim.

Moreover, solar panels also comes with 25 years of performance warranty. This mean that for the first 10 years, you solar panels will run at 97% of its given efficiency. For the rest of 15 years, it will run at 80% of its given efficiency. If you solar performance is unsatisfactory, you can apply for warranty claim.
